At Elm Fork Shooting Sports, we work hand-in-hand with our community to educate children about outdoor activities and sports to keep them strong and healthy. Although we are a shooting facility, we believe strongly in not only the education of our sport, but also in bringing together many other non-profit organizations. We have nearly 500 acres to share with organizations such as Start Caring Wellness, the Boy Scouts of America, 4-H and many more.
In 2009 and 2010, Youth Target Foundation and Start Caring Wellness hosted the North Texas Outdoor Expo at Elm Fork for nearly 5000 participants. This Expo exposed kids in Texas to over 50 outdoor events to increase awareness of outdoor physical activity. We recently repeated a mini-expo with Arthur Kramer Elementary School of Dallas ISD and plan to have many more to come!
Elm Fork continues to host multiple Boy Scout troops to complete numerous merit badges and we sponsor our own 4-H program for kids. Elm Fork is also home to the Youth Target Foundation where no child is turned away for their inability to pay.
In 2011, we hosted Shoot with the Pros for the USO and we will continue to have fun events this year and the years to come.
